Wild Mystic Oracle Card Deck – Update
Wild Mystic Oracle Card Deck – Update

Samhain is fast approaching and with it the Northern Hemisphere days are getting colder and the nights darker. Along with the cool breeze carrying golden crisp leaves, the Autumn of 2021 was meant to bring with it the anticipated release of my oracle deck the Wild Mystic Oracle Card Deck, through Peter Pauper Press. But sadly that is something which will now have to wait a little bit longer.

The printing and publishing industries have been experiencing major delays and material shortages due to the ongoing pandemic and consequent knock on effects around the world. As well as this, we have all seen the delays to shipping and postage all over the globe as our postal systems continue to work so incredibly hard.

As such, the Wild Mystic Oracle Card Deck and book have been pushed back for publication in early 2022.

While I know this is disappointing  (I more than anyone am excited to see this artwork in print and share it with each and every one of you!) I can assure you that the amazing team at Peter Pauper Press are working tirelessly to create a beautifully produced book and oracle card deck which you will treasure.

For those of you who have supported this deck by pre-ordering on Amazon, the Peter Pauper Press sales team are currently communicating their changes directly with Amazon and you should be notified as soon as this takes effect – including any details regarding pre-order refunds and new release dates. I am sorry I can't offer you many more details than this at the moment, but I will let you know more as things develop.

Leading up to the publication next year, I have a number of blog posts planned which I hope you will join me over on www.anastasiacatris.com for.

In the companion book to the Wild Mystic Oracle Deck, I touch upon the idea of creating an Oracle Journal:

I would recommend keeping an oracle journal or notebook with notes on how you feel about each card. While [the Wild Mystic] book can offer guidance on how I, as the artist behind this deck, feel about the art, your own responses will always be more accurate for you in any divination or reading.

I will be detailing my own Oracle Journal which I have made alongside creating these cards, and showing you ways you might wish to craft your own. This will include some handy questions you might want to consider when getting to know the cards and even links to royalty-free images you can print off and stick in your journal.

My Oracle Journal is made using Peter Pauper Press' gorgeous 'Rubaiyat Journal' whose cover reproduces a beautifully ornate 1885 bookbinding for the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. The black, cream and gold embossed cover with its gild-edged pages works perfectly alongside the colours of my own cards.

I will also be writing up some posts on the animals revealed to you so far from the Wild Mystic Oracle Deck which will dive into the symbolism of some of these beautiful creatures. These blog posts will act as living documents where I will add resources including legends, folklore, films, poems and printable images that I find on each animal on my travels. Not only will this give you a jumping off point for your own research, it will also give you some nice resources for your own Oracle Journal.

I have been sharing with you two of the cards from this upcoming deck each month. So far I have revealed 12 new additions to my original 16 designs, with the final 2 to be revealed for the November Online Macabre Market. I hope to see some of you there. There are still 20 more designs to reveal when the deck is eventually released next year and I know you will love them. But until then, you can still purchase fine art prints of the revealed artwork over on my Online Store.

The Wild Mystic Oracle Deck will feature 50 illustrated cards of different animals from around the world, accompanied by words which will act as prompts for your own intuitive readings. There will also be a booklet with recommended readings based on my own interpretations, but this card deck is for YOU. The artwork is intricate and stylistic with many patterns, hidden symbols and meditative details for you to get lost in, and find your own meaning.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while the folks at Peter Pauper Press work determinedly to bring this deck to life. I know it will be worth the wait and I cannot wait to share it with you all next year.
